UPEI GeoREACH Lab
Research Assistant
- Assisted Professor Joshua MacFadyen and the team members with data entry Quality Assurance (QA)/ Quality Control (QC) and summaries to support research on land use, food, and policy history in Atlantic Canada.
- Utilized Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to interpret and digitalize Prince Edward Island (PEI) land use maps for 1963 watershed areas and to mark and analyze wells and water supply in PEI Groundwater resources in 1950.
- Trained deep learning models for ArcGIS resolution in pixels, Collected and categorized PEI historical map data, more than 3300 data sources were used to digitize historical maps and aerial photographs.
- Coordinated and conducted academic conferences and daily operations of the GeoREACH Lab.

Policy Research Intern
- Assisted in writing the policy recommendations and reports on youth democracy activities at the Canadian federal and provincial levels.
- Identified possible assessments of efforts in domestic and worldwide to improve Canadian youth civic engagement. Searched promising initiatives for potential implementation in Canada. Conducted blog writing to form a repository for youth democratic participation.

- Executed the Mercedes-Benz Public Relations program for the Mainland China area. Coordinated and executed various Mercedes-Benz model launches, media releases and test drives in the Mainland China area.
- Managed inventory status and media deliveries of 300+ test cars in four test car garages in Beijing, Guangzhou, Shanghai and Chengdu, and handled test car emergencies. Conducted regular media relations maintenance by organizing media dinners and gift distribution.

- Presented with a colleague for a research program, titled Land Use Changes in Prince Edward Island watersheds from 1960 to 2020.
- The study aimed to explore the historical factors of the human environment’s land use to rationalize land use, The Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada funded the Project.

- Presented a pandemic remote education research, titled Communication and Distance Education: Is There Information Loss in Pandemic Distance Education?
- Used a small amount of data and communication theories to conduct qualitative research for distance education effectiveness. Compared the content and information transfer situations of in-person education and distance education.
